For University life to be successful, we students must adopt good and healthy habits to help us sail through the University journey successfully. There are various things we students could do to ensure that our journey at the University is joyous and smooth.

Excellent organization skills is key. It is developed by simply prioritizing your work and organizing your week effectively in advance. This gives one a clear picture of what to expect and what to do at a particular time. Consequently, one can avoid the anxiety that results from unmet deadlines. One should make a list of things that are anticipated to be done during the week and prioritize them according to their urgency and importance. Having a list of activities to be carried out over the week gives oneself peace of mind. It also helps avoid engaging in unnecessary activities that might distract one from carrying out the important tasks.

University life is not always a happy life; challenges arise now and then, and at times if not confronted well, they may lead to stress which can cause depression over time if not mitigated. To curb pain that results from stressful moments at University, we must develop ways of alleviating stress. Having established and practiced mechanisms helps us cope with any form of stress at University. Some people engage in sports while others enjoy socializing. Reading poetry and music could be of interest to other masses. Societies are the best way to find people who have the same interests, the same skills, and the same passions as you. I personally became a member of the running society as my destressing mechanism. I started running twice a week with friends and the fresh air and beautiful scenery refreshed and distracted me, taking my mind off the issues that seemed to irk me before. I then returned to my studies feeling clear-headed and optimistic. You should adapt a mechanism which fits you best and makes your experience unique and lively.
